After my rather long holiday break, I decided the first day back to the studio had to be all about playing!
I ended up choosing a paste paint production day to get back to my normal art-working life, immersed in the joy of transforming blank paper into a multitude of coloured textures.
For this particular session I mixed a paste of cake flour and cornstarch. I never measure; I usually apply  the old world method of using whatever in hand, and proceed by pouring water from a jug while stirring the mixture over the stove until it thickens. When the paste cools down, I add some more (cold) water to achieve the consistency/fluidity I need for the specific project.
