Book creatures...

Yes, sometimes books end up infested by insects...

There are several types of insects that damage collection materials including books. The most common pests are roaches, silverfish, and various types of beetles. These insects eat the protein and starch components in books and other materials, and the feces of these and other types of insects can disfigure collection materials. Protective enclosures can lessen the chance of insect damage. The most important safeguard against insect damage is good housekeeping...

and other times (if I am in the mood...) books end up becoming insect-like creatures!

For the last year os so, I have been getting carried away into frequent sessions of creature making! It happens suddenly, out of the blue and always in the context of story telling subconsciously narrated to Everett and Alice, my grandkids!
And so my stories are told through my very own preferred method: using imagery instead of words,  and objects (creatures) formed by folding/cutting/manipulating discarded books and combining them with monotypes, photograph transfer works, collages... The works presented here are a few "excerpts" of these stories.
