Book creatures...
Yes, sometimes books end up infested by insects...
from notes on book preservation, Harry Ransom Center, The University of Texas at Austin
and other times (if I am in the mood...) books end up becoming insect-like creatures!
For the last year os so, I have been getting carried away into frequent sessions of creature making! It happens suddenly, out of the blue and always in the context of story telling subconsciously narrated to Everett and Alice, my grandkids!
And so my stories are told through my very own preferred method: using imagery instead of words, and objects (creatures) formed by folding/cutting/manipulating discarded books and combining them with monotypes, photograph transfer works, collages... The works presented here are a few "excerpts" of these stories.
