traveling icons...
I have been working developing a body of work with images resulting from an ongoing internal dialogue I have with certain figures long gone but still very present in my mind. Inspired/influenced by the old "practice" of traveling icons, I sometimes use a similar format in presenting segments of these very personal "conversations" like the triptych above:
"thoughts"
closed: 25.5 x 25 cm. - opened: 25.5 x 51 cm.
Rives BFK, Van Son rubber based inks, archival pigmented digital print, Davey board, waxed linen thread, PVA adhesive.
"from memory"monoprint with chine-collé, 16 x 20 inches
Visual Arts Alliance 27th Open Juried Exhibition, April 29 - May 28 -Houston, Texas
a great group of images. the layering is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteDear Anna,
ReplyDeleteYour work is not only beautiful but also haunting. The triptych is one of my favorite forms of art and I like how you use it as a traveling alter.
Thank you for sharing,
Egmont
I love your book works very much- the subdued colors and marks are very appealing to me.. and please let me know more about your upcoming trip..
